Why I love working in a services company

Many people deny the opportunity to work in a services company but from my own perspective, there are clear & tremendous advantages when working in such a company.

One of the biggest advantages when working in such a company is the amazing opportunities to work on several projects in a very short time. It’s not only that you get the experience with various technologies due to amount of projects you are involved in, but it’s also the knowledge depth that is required from you as a professional in order to deliver a perfect solution to the customer.

Get to know people exponentially

As you’re involved and responsible for many projects in different companies, you meet different people in the industry and you actually create many important connections. The potential here is clear — create a huge professional network and build relationships across different organizations. People get to know you. Many people.

Meet different organizations

Simply as that, you are participating in several projects — you get to know several organizations. The benefit here is that you can learn about different organizations’ cultures, behaviors, business use-cases, and management. You meet very different people and very different ways to do different things. Instead of getting locked into one way of thinking or culture, you have the opportunity to meet many other ways.

As a person and a manager, customer service is a core skill to success in my point of view. You do customer service all the time even if you’re not working in a services company; you are serving your team, you are serving other departments in your own company, and you even serve customers that are waiting for a new feature. My point is, that in a services company, thanks to the fact that you work with many different customers, you are getting a high experience of customer service, naturally.
